Hi guys and welcome! Today we are going to be talking about my absolute MUST HAVE apps as a college student and why they are necessary. With this being my third year (wait WHAT?) in college, I think I know a thing or two about using things to your advantage (or maybe it’s just laziness, who knows!). Let’s just go ahead and jump into the good stuff.
The Dropbox app is so convenient because it transcends over all the platforms you could possibly need it on. You can use it to hold files to transfer to a different device, or just to store all of your work on an outside source. One of it’s best features though is it’s scanner. This feature allows you to take a picture of a document and it will convert it into a scan that can be saved as a .jpg or a .pdf. It is SUCH a time saver!! No more waiting to use a copier. Although I use the paid version of Dropbox (9.99/month for 1TB of storage), Dropbox offers a FREE plan for up to 2GB of space. 🙂
Ever had a group project and had to start a group message? And that ONE person had an android which made all of your texts come as text messages? OR maybe you were the person with the android and you were annoyed with how fast everyone else was talking but your poor phone just couldn’t keep up and you were always 3 steps behind in the convo? (I’ve been there….lol). WELL DO I HAVE NEWS FOR YOU. The app “GroupMe” is literally a group messaging app. And it’s the best and easiest one out there. Simply add people to the group, and then everyone can chat seamlessly and have all of the correspondence in one place. There’s even the option to do a group poll, that way everyone can vote on decisions SO easily. It’s literally so convenient and I’m not sure what I would do without it. (If you’re a part of an organization of some sort, you probably already use this app.. and if you don’t, what are you doing?!) Of all the apps you could have, this one is a MUST.
Ahhhhh Venmo, where would I be without you? Venmo is basically just a money transferring app. It makes it SUPER easy to send money to people or to receive it. You’re going out to eat one night and don’t have your wallet? So someone else picks up your tab while you simultaneously send them some money on Venmo. It’s SOOO easy and convenient. No more waiting to go to the ATM to get cash, just a few clicks and you’re all squared up with your friend. Or even if you’re the friend doing the tab-picking-up and you want that payment ASAP? This is the way to do it! We’re all in college and broke, we don’t want to be waiting around to be paid back! 😉
4. Next Episode
The Next Episode App is exactly what it sounds like. It tracks all o your favorite tv shows and tells you when they will be coming back or when the next episode is airing. It’s so helpful to keep track if you’re a tv whore like me and have your toes dipped in to 1 too many shows. It can be annoying to forget about a show you were really enjoying when school picks up and takes up all of your time, but with Next Episode, you’ll never miss a beat.
I’m sure most of you know what Postmates is but if you don’t….oh boy are you missing out!! Postmates is literally a delivery service for places that don’t already deliver. It’s basically Uber for food. The user interface is really easy to navigate and you can have your favorite food or drinks delivered right to your door for a low delivery fee! It’s perfect for those late nights studying or days where you just really don’t feel like getting out and about.
NEW to Postmates? Use the code 6HH7C for $100 in FREE delivery credit!
^^^ Now you have no reason not to try it! It’s amazing. 🙂
